Link and I decided to make a last minute stop at Garden of the Gods during our move to Colorado. This park has been on my bucket list since I saw a picture of it online during high school. Super happy I got to spend the day exploring it with my trusty sidekick, Link.

The quest to visit all 63 national parks together continues for Austin and Link the adventure cat while returning home from a 7 day vacation to Durango, CO. We decided to take an alternative route home so we could visit Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Western Colorado. We had an awesome time driving through the park and going on some short hikes with our friends, Jordan and Peanut. We will definitely be back out here to climb in the future. While you're out here you can see some of the steepest and oldest spires in North America that were forged from rivers and extreme weather conditions..

The quest to visit all 63 national parks together continues for Austin and Link the adventure cat while on a 7 day vacation to Durango, CO. While on this trip we had the opportunity to visit and explore Mesa Verde National Park in South West Colorado. We had an awesome time going on some short hikes, seeing the Native American ruins, and going on a scenic drive through the park.While you're here you can get a glimpse into what ancestral Pueblo life was like 700 years ago and see local wildlife that can't be found anywhere else.

The quest to visit all 63 national parks together continues for Austin and Link the adventure cat. After completing our move to Colorado we decided to take a day trip to visit and explore Rocky Mountain National Park in Northern Colorado. This can easily be done in a day for people living in or visiting the Denver area and is a great place to visit the diverse environments.

The quest to visit all 63 national parks together continues for Austin and Link the adventure cat during their move from Austin, Texas to Denver, Colorado. During this trip we stopped at our first 5 parks throughout Texas, New Mexico and Colorado continuing with the Great Sand Dunes National Park in Southern Colorado which was the last park we visited during our move. This was both Link and I's favorite park of the trip and the first time during our journey that we felt like we were in the mountains. While you're visiting this park though you can see the tallest dune in North America.

The quest for Link and I to visit all 63 national parks together continues for Austin and Link the adventure cat during their move from Austin, Texas to Denver, Colorado. During this trip we stopped at our first 5 parks throughout Texas, New Mexico and Colorado continuing with White Sands National Park in Southern New Mexico. This is the last of two national parks in New Mexico and one of Link's favorite because she could dig a giant sand box. While you're visiting this park you can see the worlds largest gypsum dunefield and the associated wave-like dunes.

The quest for Link and I to visit all 63 national parks together continues for Austin and Link the adventure cat during their move from Austin, Texas to Denver, Colorado. During this trip we stopped at our first 5 parks throughout Texas, New Mexico and Colorado continuing with Carlsbad Caverns National Park in Southern New Mexico. Luckily, the staff here allowed Link to enter the park as long as she remained in her back back. This was a really cool national park and probably one of my favorites to date. The temp is a constant 60-70 degrees and a perfect way to beat the desert heat.

During this trip we stopped at our first 5 parks throughout Texas, New Mexico and Colorado continuing with Guadalupe Mountains National Park in East Texas. Unfortunately, due to the heat Link and I weren't able to explore the park too much, however, this parks offer some scenic drives and short hikes. While you're visiting this park though you can see the four tallest peaks in Texas and the worlds most extensive Permian fossil reef.

The quest for Link and I to visit all 63 national parks together begins for Austin and Link the adventure cat during their move from Austin, Texas to Denver, Colorado. During this trip we stopped at our first 5 parks throughout Texas, New Mexico and Colorado beginning with Big Bend National Park in East Texas. Unfortunately, due to the heat Link and I weren't able to explore the park too much, however, we were able to enjoy scenic drives throughout the park, picnic lunch and some short hikes. While you're visiting this park you can see the rivers that cut through the ancient limestone to develop the spires there today and the diverse population of plants and animals.

Jurassic Park is a hidden gem for single pitch sport climbing. This area is tucked away outside of Estes Park and is only a short, albeit strenuous approach from the Lily Lake parking lots. Clear Creek Canyon is one of the more popular locations for rock climbers in the Denver area. Located just outside of Golden, CO. this area offers locals a great post work crag due to its location, short approaches, and the amount of sun it receives especially during the spring-early fall months. This area offers a lot of developed routes for sport climbers and trad climbers alike. Please check out our blog for wall and route recommendations at Clear Creek Canyon.

Boulder Canyon is one of the more popular locations for rock climbers in the Denver area. Located just outside of Boulder, CO. this area offers locals a great post work crag due to its location, short approaches, and peaceful environment from the reduced amount of highway traffic. Barton Creek Greenbelt is in the heart of Austin and is a staple for Austin residents and the Texas climbing community bringing many climbers from all around the state. There are a few entrances to access the different climbing areas including Gus Fruh, New Wall, Seismic Wall among other less climbed and bouldering areas. The Greenbelt was one of my home crags prior to moving to Colorado. Please check out our blog for wall and route recommendations.

Monster Rock is a hidden gem for Austin climbing. This crag is located near Pace Bend Park which is only 30 miles outside of downtown Austin in Spicewood, Texas. This crag is a perfect escape from the Texas heat where you'll have some fun routes and plenty of shade to climb outside during the summer months. 10 mile canyon is a string of cliff faces right off I70 between Frisco and Vail, Colorado. This area includes classic routes like Royal Flush and crags like Mount Royal, White Cliffs, and Sunshite Butress to name a few. Please check out our blog for our favorite walls and routes in 10 mile canyon.

Enchanted Rock State Park is located 100 miles outside of downtown Austin in Fredricksburg, Texas. Here, you will find the only area in all of Texas with an extensive amount of granite climbing and bouldering. If you're up for the drive down then it is well worth the trip. Please note that this area is predominantly trad climbing and there are limited routes with bolts to clip protection.
